Star had a male cria on Sunday (9/21/2014), he looks like he will probably be dark brown. A listing for the new cria is under Fierce Warrior. Star gave birth to her latest cria (by Juggernaut) in late September 2014 so we are holding her over until spring 2015 to have her re-bred. It is said that the military awards the "bronze star" for meritorious achievement (i.e. for "doing one's job well"). After seeing Admiral's latest cria, we couldn't help but award Admiral the Bronze Star! Full Peruvian and boasting Accoyo genetics, Admiral's Bronze Star is a shimmery shade of medium brown with black tips. Star is a large and powerful framed female with a beautiful typey head and awesome conformation. Star (an Admiral daughter) was bred to 7X Champion Juggernaut and after seeing the stunning results with Starlite we felt the Admiral/Juggernaut combination of genetics was a mix definitely worth repeating. Star is a multi champion producer. Her 1st cria, Starlite, is now a 3X COLOR CHAMPION!! Starlite was awarded JUDGE'S CHOICE (Championship of Champions) as a 6 month old juvi at the Buckeye Alpaca Show 2011 (her 1st show). Also winning her first Championship Banner and a Blue Ribbon. She also took the Championship and a Blue Ribbon at AlpacaFest 2011 (her 2nd show). Therefore we rebred Star back to Juggernaut a 2nd time. The result...Macho Man, who is a very nice male with a lot of potential. A "no brainer" Star has been bred back to Juggernaut a 3rd time. Star is one of those GIRLS that no farm should ever sell, just hide her in your back forty and crank out the champions. Think what a girl like Star could do for your breeding program.

STUNNING! JUGGERNAUT/ADMIRAL MIX! WOW! Duchess is the 3rd cria out of the Juggernaut/Admiral mix of genetics!! We bred Princess (Juggernaut cria) to Admiral, a 17X 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Reserve Championship winning herdsire, owned by Redwood Ranch Alpacas, hoping this pairing would again produce another potentially awesome cria. We got our wish, the result....DUCHESS! This little lady has it all! With her charming disposition and gorgeous looks she is certain to capture the attention of everyone that visits our farm. Full Peruvian and 1/4 Accoyo, Admiral's Peruvian Duchess looks like she is going to be a very nice female. Not only is her fleece dense but it is already displaying a consistent high-frequency crimp structure all over her blanket...up her neck...and down her legs which is usually not seen in a cria so young. It is a rich colored medium brown and is dazzling...super bright with a nice handle. Her conformation is good with an excellent bite, solid frame and good balance. Duchess definitely deserves to be shown in the fall! Duchess comes from Champion lineage!! Her sire, Admiral, a Reserve Champion and Multi Ribbon winner, is a very elite male. Her grand sire is Juggernaut, an elite fleeced 7X Champion male, also owned by Redwood Ranch Alpacas. Juggernaut is a Champion producing Champions. Duchess' dam, Princess, is a 2X Champion and Multi Ribbon Winner. We are very pleased with this little girl. After seeing the stunning results we feel the Admiral/Juggernaut combination of genetics is a mix definitely worth repeating. With her award winning genetics, fleece structure, and great conformation, Duchess can't help but do well in the show ring. Duchess' Sire MFG Peruvian Admiral has been sold and is no longer in the US, as he now stands stud in England. Therefore, her genetics are no longer available in the US making her a rare find!

UPDATE - Pumpkin had a dark fawn, male cria on May 13 out of Freedom Ranch's Xenos. Cria pictures and page coming soon. Pumpkin had a 18.4 lbs. female cria out of Snowmass Royal Revolution on 5/30/15. The cria looks to be Light Fawn or Beige. Pumpkin had her second female cria on 6/5/2014, and the cria is out of AROSA Tuscan Black from The AlpacaRosa. Take a look at the cria, she is under G8S Tuscan Black's Siena.

UPDATE: MFI Peruvian Attaway had a white or beige female cria on June 27th out of ELK Matrix's Macho Camacho. Attaway's sire, Snowmass Millenium, passed away in August 2011. Millenium was known for producing offspring with solid stature and long, dense fleeces with excellent fleece character. He will be deeply missed. Attaway's dam is MFI Peruvian Atlantia, one of the daughters of Peruvian Rolex.

UPDATE: Round Again had a 10.7 lbs, white or beige male cria on July 13th out of ELK Matrix's Macho Camacho. Round Again finished her show career with a bang at the Buckeye Alpaca Show May 1-3! She took a 1st Place in the White Yearling Halter class, and then took Reserve Color Champion. She also took a 3rd Place in her class in White Fleece behind two Cas-Cad-Nac alpacas, one of them taking the Reserve Color Champion. 2014: Gates Alpaca Ranch would like to welcome the newest addition to our herd! When you look at this photo you know what we have here! She is covered from head to toe in fleece and genetics. The superb stylings of her sire FRONTRUNNER (bringing Fenja, Rolex, Millenium, Tafeta and Legacy) are only enhanced by the super powers of her dam ROUNDABOUT (bringing Mr. Antonio, Hemingway and Rosana) which bolster this already packed pedigree. Round Again took a 1st Place in the White Yearling Halter class ahead of Seven Springs and Stachowski Alpacas at the Kentucky Classic Alpaca Show. Round Again took a 2nd Place in the White Yearling Halter class behind the eventual Color Champion at the Best of the US Alpaca Show. We are very excited to announce that MFI Peruvian Round Again took 1st place, Color Champion, and Judge's Choice in the fleece show at OABA Alpacafest Alpaca Show Nov. 1 & 2. She also took 6th place (for a specific reason) in the White Yearling Full Fleece Halter class, against alpacas from Rock Creek, Heather's Acre Alpaca Farm, The Wood Farm, and One Fine Day Alpacas (very tough class). Judge Cathy Markley commented that she was the complete package but was just not carrying as much fineness as those ahead of her in the class. Round Again also took a 2nd in a class of 8 at the VAOBA Expo fleece show in White Juvenile. She placed behind the eventual Reserve Color Champion and Judge's Choice winner.

Princess is Juggernaut's 1st cria and she is truly a little Princess! Full Peruvian and 1/8 Accoyo, Juggernaut's Peruvian Princess is everything we had hoped for in his 1st cria and more. Her light brown fleece is bright with a nice handle. She has full leg coverage down to her toes. Her blanket is dense and bright with awesome consistent high frequency crimp all over her body, down her legs and up her neck. Princess's conformation is good with an excellent bite and solid frame. She has a nice head with black eyeliner, dark ears, dark nose and a gorgeous top knot. Princess is now a 2X Reserve Color Champion taking a Reserve Championship Banner and a Blue Ribbon at the Best of the US Alpaca Show as an 8 month old juvi and another Reserve Color Championship Banner at the Indiana Alpaca Invitational as a 9 month old juvi!! Way to go Princess! Princess comes from Champion lineage!! Her sire, Juggernaut, is a 7X Champion herdsire, who is a very elite male. Juggernaut is a Champion producing Champions!!! Princess' dam, Reba, is also a Multi Champion producer!!! Princess' lineage also boasts Accoyo Grandmaster, Altiplano Gold and Peruvian Leah (a champion producer and a champion herself). Princess's heritage is also covered with colors, including many shades of fawn, brown and TRUE BLACK! We are very pleased with Princess. She has already won us over with her flawless conformation, gorgeous head, beautiful crimp, full coverage and dense fleece. This combination of conformation and fleece characteristics is what Gates Alpaca Ranch is breeding for! Princess had a 15.2 lbs., light fawn, male cria on 6/1/16 out of Freedom Ranch's Xenos. Princess had her 2015 cria. She weighed in at 15.2 lbs. and looks to be medium/dark fawn. She is out of Snowmass Royal Revolution. Princess' previous cria is a multi-ribbon winning gorgeous medium brown female named Duchess. Duchess is the 3rd cria from this Juggernaut/Admiral combination of genetics. Sir Laurence of Mayhem, or as we like to call him on the ranch "Larry", has excellent confirmation, big dense bone structure, excellent fineness and brightness, and good density for his fineness. At the Spring and Fall shows we took him to this year, the judges all had the same thing to say about him, he is a great looking boy with a presence about him, and he stands proud!
